Montreal, April 25th 2025/ Ascension Foundation, a volunteer-run non-profit organization that supports high-level amateur athletes in Quebec, and the Fédération de Rugby du Québec (Rugby Québec), a non-profit organization that brings together regional associations and rugby clubs across the province, are proud to announce their new partnership. Through this collaboration, three rugby athletes will receive financial aid and individualized support from Ascension Foundation, including exclusive discounts and free access to various products and services.

This agreement marks an important step forward in Ascension Foundation’s mission to support high-level amateur athletes in Quebec who incur more than $8,000 in annual sport-related expenses while earning less than $65,000 per year.

“We’re thrilled to partner with Rugby Québec to support rugby athletes,” says Sophie Bouchard, CEO of Fondation Ascension. “This support will help reduce their financial stress so they can focus better on training. It also brings us closer to our goal of awarding $20,000 in financial aid to 20 athletes by December 2025. Already, $4,200 has been awarded to 9 athletes in December 2024.”

 

Rugby Québec is deeply familiar with the realities faced by amateur athletes, particularly those in the rugby community. Many of its athletes face financial hardship, and the organization is eager to explore new ways to support them so they can stay focused on their performance on the field.

It’s an important step forward for our Quebec athletes!”
